Solitude

It is so much more than being alone

And not at all lonely

Any whisper of fear

Is soothed by an internal consistency

An invitation to speak the truth

With the utmost confidentiality

And any secrets shared

Are keys to one’s own humanity

A dialogue like no other

No dismissal or interruption

Adorned with garb that gently hugs

And gives way for easeful liberation

The child emerges in awe of survival

And reminds the grown to embrace fascination

The window of becoming entices

An honest yet exhilarating perception

Time is your own, as are the boundaries of

Space, feeling, intellect, and tone

To be with all parts of me

Is so much more than being alone
