Subscriber First Name, I feel like I’ve lived an entire lifetime in Q1 of 2025. As we enter a new quarter and embrace a new season (HBD to my fiery Aries friends! ❤️‍🔥), I’m taking a moment to reflect on all the good insights I received.

The one piece of advice that really stands out is that in times of crisis, we have to know our part.

However, I recently learned that knowing your part isn’t enough. A few weeks ago I was sitting at my desk, borderline panicked, because I knew my part but didn’t know where to go or what to do with it. My confidence took a beating, and before I knew it, I was telling myself that “my part doesn’t matter.”

As with any dark moment, I leaned into my community for light and guidance. I quickly learned that knowing your part isn’t just about doing your job—it’s also about understanding the needs of the larger ecosystem. Knowing your part requires taking time to learn about what others are contributing, and how your part fits within a larger whole.

And that, Subscriber First Name, is the secret sauce to finding the courage to keep going. It’s easy to get choked up and winded when you feel like you have to sing your part solo. We can find our voice and the courage to breathe life into new ideas when we conspire with others (BTW - the latin roots of conspire translates to “breathing together”).

I use this tool regularly with friends, family, and nonprofit leaders to explore how we each show up in systems of change.

What’s been especially powerful is hearing how others see me in the system, and reflecting back what I see in them. My part had always been clear to me: I’m a wellbeing-oriented leadership coach.

However, my community helped to crystalize what my part really means in alignment with the larger ecosystem of equity, liberation, justice, and solidarity: My part is to guide passionate and community-oriented people through leadership practices rooted in healing and care.

The path forward is collective. We keep going by joining with others, recognizing that our individual efforts are stronger when woven together.
